Dental Floss

Dental Floss (Unflavored/Waxed): A smooth, high-tensile nylon or Teflon string used in photo preservation to safely slide behind photographs that are permanently stuck to the sticky pages of vintage “magnetic” albums. By pulling a taut length of unflavored, waxed floss flat against the album page and using a gentle, slow sawing motion, you can cleanly slice through degraded, yellowed adhesive. This lifts the photograph entirely intact without bending the fragile emulsion or tearing the paper backing, preparing the print for a clean camera scan.
