Camera Body Stabilization (IBIS): A technology that physically moves the camera sensor inside the chassis to counteract small vibrations. While engineered to keep handheld shots sharp, body stabilization should generally be deactivated during copy-stand digitization work, as an active sensor-shifting mechanism can accidentally introduce microscopic blur or alignment issues when mounted to a completely static, solid platform.
