Post-Editing (Post-Processing): The software stage where raw digital captures of physical media are refined into finished, accurate archive files. Instead of radically altering the image, post-editing in a digitization workflow focuses on fidelity—adjusting exposure curves, correcting global white balance, flipping color negatives into positives, and carefully removing digital dust spots to ensure the final file perfectly matches the visual intent of the original artifact.
