Cross-Polarization

A photographic lighting technique that involves placing polarizing filters over both the light source and the camera lens at opposing 90-degree angles. This effectively eliminates specular reflection, blinding hot spots, and surface glare when digitizing glossy prints, oil paintings, or textured documents.
