Glass Plate Negatives: A vintage photographic medium used from the mid-19th to the early 20th century, consisting of a light-sensitive emulsion coated directly onto a rigid sheet of glass. To digitize these historical assets, they are placed on a high-quality backlight under a camera stand and photographed as transparent originals. Because the glass is brittle and the aged emulsion can easily flake or scratch, they require exceptionally careful handling, proper edge support, and precise lighting adjustments to avoid catching surface reflections or dust on the glass.
