Tethered Camera Capture (Tethering): The process of connecting your digital camera to a computer via a high-speed USB or network cable so that images transfer instantly to your screen as you shoot. In a digitization workflow, tethering eliminates the constant back-and-forth of swapping memory cards. More importantly, it allows you to instantly check focus, exposure, and alignment on a large monitor rather than a tiny camera LCD—ensuring mistakes are caught and corrected on the spot.
